Dita Von Teese Hologram

Paris – 26^th February 2020 – the Palais de la Porte Dorée presents a major exhibition devoted to the work and creativity of Christian Louboutin, the internatio-nally renowned footwear designer and key figure in the fashion world. Designed as an invitation to disco-ver Christian Louboutin’s rich universe, the exhibition explores every facet of his multi-referential work, in an institution that has played an important role in inspi- ring his vocation.

UK Innovation Agency, Tiger Heart’s founder, Sanj Surati was called in to revisit a holographic project he had worked on with Christian Louboutin back in 2012. The original Christian Louboutin hologram of Dita Von Teese needed to be found, redeveloped and reproduced to run in the new Christian Louboutin L’Exhibitioniste show planned to be held at the Palais de la Porte Dorée in Paris.

Tiger Heart consulted on the design and application of the holographic system for the exhibition with regards to the resurrection of the Dita Von Teese piece. This involved architectural designs and the testing of the system at the shoemaker’s Atelier in the centre of Paris.

Sanj Surati from Tiger Heart said “When working in the tech space, I find you get to work on some extraordinary projects that really do engage with audiences in fun and exciting ways. I presented Christian Louboutin the large-scale stage holographic system to him back in 2012 in the build-up to his original exhibition at the Design Museum in London. I’ll never forget that exhibition being a fantastic piece of fashion magic in London during that wonderful summer. The opening weekend was great but during the second weekend there were queues of people coming out of the venue with people waiting in the rain. The majority of the people lining up were there to see the Dita Von Teese Hologram as it had gained great PR since its launch. It was great to work with the Christian Louboutin team again after all these years to resurrect something that I was so proud to be part of”.

Christian Louboutin’s L’Exhibitioniste went live in Paris in February 2020 and was due to run up until July but was closed during the Covid 19 lockdown. We hope to see it open in the future when the restrictions ease.
